Peggy, who lives at Lime Court Care Home in Harwich, recently enjoyed a trip to the Electric Palace cinema with the team to watch a classic film from the past called ‘Seven Brides for Seven Brothers'.
This showing was part of a special screening they do at the cinema called ‘memory matinee’, which aims to help bring back memories by showing popular films from the past. This screening is also open to friends, families and carers to attend, so they can enjoy trips to the cinema together.
Peggy was very excited to go to the cinema and watch one of her favourite films on the big screen. She hadn’t visited the cinema for some years, so just walking into the building brought back happy memories of times she had visited in the past.
Peggy then took her seat with the team and tucked into some ice cream before the film started. The lights then dimmed, and the film began to play.
Peggy really enjoyed watching the film and moving along in her chair to the songs they sang in the film. She was smiling from cheek to cheek throughout and it was clear to see she was having a great time.
The team would like to thank the Electric Palace for hosting this inclusive screening and helping to bring the joy of cinema back into people’s lives.
